Can You Ride Roller Costars if You Are Too Tall

Ok I know this sounds funny but I'm planning on going Alton Towers soon and I'm 6'3 or 6'4 (maybe even taller...havent measured myself)

I was just trying to work out if these theme parks have an upper limit for there rides? Because if I'm not allowed on Oblivion or Nemesis I don't want to go.

Lol I keep imagining my head getting sliced off.

Also my mate is 6'8/6'9 and was asking for him as well. lol.

Some rollercoasters have upper height limits because they get close to walls and things so you'll have to read the signs. :p: Your height shouldn't be a problem but your friend is a super-giant.

There is no "upper" I don't think.

Just checked their site and there is nothing about an upper. Best just ringing 08705 20 40 60 and asking them though.

I went to thorpe park yesterday, and there was a warning saying that if you we're above 6'4" then you many not be able to go on all the rides. However, there was only one ride with a specific height restriction (of 6'4") that i saw. None of the major rides had a specific height restriction, but you must be able to fit in the seat, and unfortunately you wont be able to check that until you are there. I assume there wont be many differences between the restrictions, but i cant say for sure.

Hope this helps,

Mike

Very true, but at some of the "main" rides at AT they have test seats, so at least you don't have to queue and then find out you can't ride :p:

Do you think they would actually physically stop me from getting on a ride though? "Oi mate..ur too tall." Because in that case I'll just simply bend down a little bit.

This is really sad lol, I love rollercoasters :'(.

;console;

sorry, can't help you on the height matter though :p:

Well I've never been to Alto Towers (and not to anywhere but disneyland in the last 8 years or so), but I find thaat whilst there isn't a limit per se, it can be bloody difficult to fit into the seats, and quite painful for a few days after as it isn't great for your back :p:

See, I don't have that problem, being "average" height. But because of my build, it can be, erm, quite tight once the overhead restraints get put in place.

As long as you fit in the seat, they have no reason to tell you to get off and at 6'3"-6'4" i wouldn't have thought you would have any problems, its your 6'8"-6'9" mate that could. Im 6'3" and i only have a problem fitting on some of the smaller rides, all of the larger rides (nemesis etc.) there is space for me to be a few inches taller. I saw a few guys taller than me fit on these rides, just no one half a foot taller :p:.

Awesomeness!

Well I'm only a bit over 6'3 (or at least I was last time I measured...5 months ago) so shouldnt be that bad I guess...

When i went to thorpe park i had no problem, and im a similar height to you. So should be allright.

I dont think there is one TBH, unless your freakishly massive (7" or something) because there must be millions of people who go to AT who are over 6".

Deej: I have that problem too but with my boobs and it bloody hurts!!

air hurts the most. especially if you're sat to straight on to the restraint, the seats go horizontal, you slide forward ouchy :p:

I agree. Last time I went on it, it stopped for 5 minutes whilst it was going downwards I still think it hurts.

oblivion broke while we were on it once. we were stuck at the top for like 20 mins. didnt even give us a second go to make up for it

i think it said dont look down like 50 times, we were like we have very little choice :p:
they stopped playing that for some reason didnt they?

Did it break while you were hanging over the edge, just before you drop?
I genuinely think I'd die if that happened to me

yea, it said dont look down and then nothing. we were sat for a while and then it said it again and again. then someone came over the intercom saying theres a technical problem and its being fixed blah blah blah

yea loads of people were really scared. we tried to start a sing song, it didnt catch on :p:
